My LGS has a featherweight in 30-06 for sale that I’m considering buying. Serial number is 7 digits preceded by “G” (didn’t commit the first numbers to memory). Very good condition with only a few small impressions in the walnut stock. What would you guys consider to be a fair price for said rifle?

750 if it’s decent if it’s a nice rifle. If you get it for less you’re doing great. A little more ain’t bad if you really like it.

But, but, but, we all "know" a 30-06 can't kill anything bigger than a mouse.

I'd also be real happy at $650

I've seen them from $600 to $1,100.00 recently.. Figure in the wood plays a role, as well as location, and of course condition.

Prices are crazy in western Washington these days. If I wanted that specific rifle, then I'd be on it white on rice for $750.

Around here, the price seems to go up the rustier and more dented it is. Especially at the Richmond show.

Top end for a pusher is about $750.

Totally different beast.

Unless it’s G151 xxxx with knockout wood and “oh yeh, the old man had it in the box which we have in the back …”

But otherwise yeah, $750-$800 is probably top.

I still stand by my price, if it is an XTR FWT.. Yes, it's not a Classic, but they are still in high demand. Again, if it is an XTR FWT.

The magnums don't bring as much as the fwt models.

I paid $522 including tax for a McMillan-stocked XTR Fwt (WinLight) 30-06 back in Apr of this year from a local gun shop.

Very nice. That is a good snag.

Different opinions, I guess, but I much prefer the XTR push feed featherweights to the later models. Much better wood on average and most I’ve seen have shot well. Fine rifles, IMO.
