Nice looking bike! I bought the camo version klx300.

Klrs are very capable bikes and very reliable. I rode with a few guys that had them and was able to ride them a few times.

I just changed out the mirrors. The round mirrors ruin the look.

I need to put taller mirrors on my bike, I think the factory ones are made for someone about 5'2"

How you liking it so far? Racking up a lot of miles?

I think I got about a whopping 120 miles on it

It seems to be geared a little high in 1st. Idles at about 8-10 mph. And 5th gear is to slow a gear IMO.

Indian? WTH. That would explain how they kept the price point down. I was thinking ‘nam…..

IIRC KLR’s are now built in Thailand, could be wrong.

The India reference was to Royal Enfields, when that
company folded in England in the 60’s, all the tooling was bought out and moved to India.
The last of the Enfield rolled out of England in 1970 and offically closed in 1971. In 1955 RE partnered with Madras to build the 350 Bullet, which they built with out change for many years. RE built their first motorbike in 1901, whch officially makes them the longest continuous motorcycle manufacturer in the world.

With the exception of a 1970 Bonnie, or for that matter a 05 Thruxton, or Ducati sport classic..or.. many great bikes. KLR is a great choice

That would be nice. I believe they are 2-2.5 times as much money…
I’m just dying to buy something named Africa

You realize there's white people there too right? If you find a better one that says American Twin, be sure to let us know.

Camp is where you make it.
