Good bud has his grandfather's .22 Benjamin. He wants to have it restored.

Recommendations?

My heart skipped a beat when I read this. My grandfather gave me his .22 Benjamin about 40 years ago. I shot it till it quit. I don't know what happened to it.

Had one done by Dennis Baker. Brought it back to almost new condition. https://www.bakerairguns.com/repair-restoration/

Have a Benjamin 312 that’s been to Baker for repairs 2 times. They ain’t fixed it yet.

I am..........disturbed.

You can buy rebuild kits for them online. There are only a handful of seals and a couple springs in any pumper. As long as there aren't pits along the edges of any of the sealing surfaces they aren't very difficult to rebuild. The trickiest part is usually getting the trigger assembly back together in most of them... that can be a real exercise in frustration with Daisy guns. Just had one of those dirty buggers apart today to clean gunk out of the trigger valve.

Reminds me I need to talk to the old man to see if he still has my old Sheridan 5mm squirrled away. The seals went bad in it when I was a kid. Now that I know what I'm doing, I need to get it from him and rebuild it if it still exists. I keep forgetting to ask him about it.
