I've not heard much at all from Russia on the matter. The Ukraine situation sounds like it's just a Russian occupation of the Donbass region at this point.

Good Lord man, this is the internet, in a general discussion forum. There are no "tactics" here beyond provoking a reaction. It is transparent. Of course "Putinista" is pejorative, and it's right in the title.

Whether we believe Putin or not we can’t ignore what he says. Whether or not he’s lying to the Russian people in the public addresses that he frequently gives and whether or not he’s lying to the world he has been consistent in his stated goals. He’s a Russian and all Russians, including Ukrainians, are liars until proven otherwise. He’s a ex-KGB agent and a patriot of Russia so I wouldn’t trust that SOB for anything BUT that does NOT mean that his stated goals are lies. If his actions in support of those goals are evidence then I’d be inclined to take him seriously. I think that we ignore him at our peril.

Russia put 20-25.000 of its best troops into Kehrson across a 1/2 mile wide freezing river.

Then, Ukraine HIMARSed all the bridges behind them, trapping them on Ukraines side of the river.
Russian troops can't get resupplied or flee with their equipment.

They might try to swim across the river though...
