Loading for a Mark V. I have 130gr TTSX, 130gr Hot Cor SP, 140 gr Hornady IL BTSP, and 145gr ELD-X at my disposal.

I had in mind to use the Barnes. Hodgdon data showed a load with a 130gr SP.

Any personal expedience with that rifle in that caliber you’d care to share would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I would go with the tsx. 3400-3500 fps and can hold up to the velocity. You could sub in the hornady as cheaper practice ammo. I have killed numerous deer and elk with the 130 tsx and a few with the 129 lrx as well. In fact my son drew a moose tag this year and will using the 270 weatherby with the 129 lrx for his load. I have no qualms with using that bullet from whitetail on up. Will expand and penetrate as far as needed.

Not sure what powder you have available but I would check out 7828, and then RL 22, 25, or 26 as well as H1000 or Ramshot Magnum.

I have not found R22 all that temp stable, but it will crank out the speed.
I use Ram shot Magnum with very good results.

I think you will do well with 7828 SC and about any 130-150 grain bullet. I run it with a 140 Nosler BT and results have been impressive.

I'll second the 7828 and 140gr A-bomb or BT.

RL 22 and 130 gr tsx. Works very well. I don't lose any sleep over temperature sensitivity claims.
