Near the end of the final shootout, he's seen ducked behind a water trough trying to shake the spent cases from his Colt Single Action Army. He makes no effort at all to use the ejector, as if he had no idea that's what it was for. What the hell??
You would think with the money they spend producing these movies they could afford to have somebody like Alec Baldwin on set to give authentic firearms advice.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.
I don't have to watch. Him shaking the empties out tha cylinder nearly drove me nuts. Little things like this hurt a movie for me. Well, that & Devall with exactly the same speech & mannerisms as Gus on Lonesome.
Made him look like a one trick pony. as far as acting goes.
Well Denzel Washington in Magnificent 7 just rotates the cylinder and the cases just fall out slick as a whistle, so just maybe Costner’s blanks stuck.
Maybe when people are shooting at you in real life you get screwed up also. Just a thought. Maybe trying to show something like that. Edk
The character was a vet of the Civil War, on some kind of special forces team. He was a gunman. How does such a man forget that there's a thumb operated ejector rod on his revolver? Not credible. If he was directed to do that, the director was an idiot. If not, then Costner is not even vaguely familiar with the operation of a single action revolver.
Colossians 3:17 (New King James Version) "And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
