Ventured over to DDs backyard range for a try out. First stop was at the 20yd bench, to check my bore sighting technique. ALL loads were 11.2grains RL-7, CCI-400 Primers... I have a 300 BLK in a Contender that i shoot only cast bullets in, and used some of them for initial sight in, these were bullets from DD out his Brooks mould: Made a scope adjustment to elevation and backed off to the 50yd line: First up was a bullet that I drop from my Accurate Mould, 210grns, BHN 11/-, this just to check zero at the 50... Next a 180gr Herters only 3 shots A 200gr Nosler 5 shots And finally a 220gr Speer 5 shots

To be honest a little surprised that the cast lead shot as well as they did...............

So finally got back to this CHEAP project, as noted above. Following Navlav8r's observation that it seems to like heavier bullets, loaded ALL of my 200 grainers and slipped over to DDs backyard range, same load as mentioned above.... The only change made to the rig was replacing the Millett red-dot with a Leupold 1.5-4x..... This does alter the total $$$s substantially, but does go with the theory that the glass should probably cost more than what it rides on... Bore sighted at the house: First shot to confirm on paper at 20yds, minor scope adjustment and then shot 3, again at 20yd... Well you can color me surprised, wasn't really expecting that, but it WAS only 20 yds, so off to the 50yd bench.... 11 shots here: Anyhoo, I am pleased. Anyone have a source for 40 year old Noslers????

Now and then the stars align, no? Any of you jokers ever tried to find empty brass amidst ankle deep oak leaves?

Every crowd has somebody that wants to stand apart, no? Who DOESN'T want to stand apart from this crowd??
Don't be the darkness.
America will perish while those who should be standing guard are satisfying their lusts.
