Not mowing a ranch here, but John Deere has worked well for me.
I have had a D170 for years problem free.

2003 Exmark 54” that I’ve treated like a bush hog. Just keeps on rolling. I’d buy again.

Don't know what you mean by "ranch". People define that differently. I have Frontier 7' for small jobs and JD 1470 for bigger stuff. On momma's lawn, I use a Toro battery powered push mower.

I don't have a ranch. I mow about 4.5 acres with a 52" Exmark E series Radius. It's a fairly heavy duty residential grade zero turn.

I have a Bush Hog brand zero turn. M2255 I believe is the model number, mow 4 acres. I have owned it for 12 years now.

I bought a newer Hustler commercial mower with a Kawasaki engine at a sod farm liquidation auction. Only mow 4 acres but it's been bulletproof for 14 years.
Life is good live it while you can.

Hello There neighbor! In Franklin I use a 60" Kubota 22 horse diesel tractor. I'm cutting a bit over 5 acres. It's about 20 years old and I think it may be built better than the newer ones. On the place close to you I just bought a new-to-me 7' John Deere bush hog. It is a foot bigger than the Bush Hog brand I've been using for 20 years and cuts the bigger stuff without grunting. Good Luck, Rick

I don't use it as much these days with fuel prices being what they are... But I have used it on some thick stuff this year. If I REALLY want to burn some diesel, I run this: It cuts great! But only a 6 foot path, and does run through some fuel to do so!

The Cub 960 is a beast on hills. I’ve mowed 35* slopes without a problem on my 8 acres. The all wheel steering is key. Oh and the stripes it will lay down is also impressive.

I run a Deere 925A.
Bought the wife a Cub ZT1 last year.
Both have Kawasaki engines... IMHO Kawasaki makes a good engine.
I would prefer a diesel Deere, but for the cost the value is not there.
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

We use a Husqvarna TS354D to cut the yard 1.35 acres and some of our 4-wheeler road about a mile roundtrip.
