No casualty feeder report or witness statement on individual.
Walked away from a grenade blast may 12 in a riot in Mosul city center unscathed
Grenade came over a wall where me 1sg B and Sfc H were standing.
They caught some shrap in the arms and legs.
I was about 8 or 9 ft away.
Aug 3 I woke up at the Cash on the airfeild with a trach tube in my throat.
Panicked as schit no one their.
Pulled that outta my throat to breathe.

Delayed blast injury
LS of my diaphragm tore in my rack the night before.
One of my Joe's seen me rapid shallow breathing in my sleep.
Platoon medic and XO got my azz on a hummer to the CASH about 4 miles away.
medic bagging me on the way.
Docs at the cash said basically my 02 level was in the mid 70,s IIRC and they had to intubate me to get it up again.
Couple days later getting medevacd

Ambulatory patient medevacd out to FTCKY for 90 days for surgery and return.
Lotta messed up guys on the flight to Landstuhl.
At Landstuhl they gave us all ambulatory types a100 buck gratuitous pay for incidental spending
The guys seriously fugged up got theirs also, but for obvious reasons couldn't go around the base and spend it.

I kinda felt like a schmuck among the real need casualties on that flight.
The flight surgeons and nurses on that flight did their job on those who needed constant attention to make it to higher treatment at Landstuhl

I hit the states Aug 6 in Detroit the night of a huge power failure.
Flew next day to Nashville.
Went back to Mosul 14 nov.

My house is sterile of "I love me" schit except for one thing I have posted a pic of on here several times.
Giving to me by my 39 armed little goons before I went to Korea for my 3rd tour 90 days after our return from OIF 1.
That means alot to me.
My vehicle is not a rolling 201 file or ERB with stickers all over it.

I do like too talk to people though, in any enviorment I can flip the switch to social butterfly mode to put people at ease or influence things.

Good thread, but it reminds me that I never did schit with my life. I wish I would've joined the service after highschool, my dad wanted me to, but I went straight to college, graduated, and didn't learn schit.
