Did the laws change? Nothing has changed yet, business as usual.

My 300BO 10” BCA is my favorite AR. If you get an AR pistol get the brace too while you still can.

I have one similar to this, but, it was with their EPT trigger and MOE plastics. Take this, add a $50 stripped lower from a Montana buddy with no papers and Bam! $370 https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa...ockwave-pistol-kit-black-5165449175.htmlIt's this I have. $350 a few years ago. Fun. Loud without suppressor. It's very killy. https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa...shockwave-pistol-kit-odg-5165450478.html

Being a pistol isn’t the issue. As long as it’s less than 26” long with less than a 16” barrel you’re good. Correction if wrong. With an AR15 type setup that allows for about 11.5” of barrel max. But there’s also a shortened pistol length buffer tube to allow more barrel length. https://ar15discounts.com/products/...stol-receiver-extension-buffer-tube-kit/The legality, as unconstitutionally declared by the BATFu, of adding a brace is the issue. Overall length is still measured from the barrel muzzle to the end of the buffer tube. I think.

The 300BO with the short barrel is not as loud as one might think. That’s with a GI style compensator. A 5.56 pistol barrel is quite a bit louder. Add a muzzle brake and it would be obnoxious. A can is nice on either though, albeit less compact and handy.

A can is nice on either though, albeit less compact and handy. That's the basic tradeoff with an AR pistol. I have one that I rarely use. Without a can it's extremely loud (to the point that even with hearing protection it is a pain), with a can you're talking M4 dimensions. I'm all for buying weapons, even if they aren't practical, but for my purposes, an M4 clone does all that a pistol does and it's a cheaper alternative than a pistol + can.

What muzzle device do you have on it? I have an 11.5" barrel that came with a standard A2 flash hider, but I run a YHM T2 turbo 99.9% of the time.

To my ears, shooting without protection, the report from my 7.5" Saint is less objectionable than the standard birdcage on my 16" carbine. The muzzle devices that direct it frontwards are awesome. But that's just my opinion. Plus getting that shorty in and out of the truck, into a hotel room, etc etc make it just too damned handy.
