When I sent it to Shaen, I intended to send it off and have it DLC applied by Ionbond. Not a big fan of ‘coatings’ in general, but it is supposedly super thin, super slick and super hard. Anyhow, after considering the additional time, and cost I decided not to do it because my only reason for wanting a coating was to keep it from being silver. So, had Shaen cerakote it and not coat any part of the bolt that is inside the receiver or the lug ways inside the receiver.

Nice build. Good to see a custom built hunting rifle on here. Not many show up anymore.

Shaen does good work. I'm betting it shoots as well as it looks...

I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

Mike Oops, forgot that info. 6lbs 2oz, sans scope and rings. 7lbs 10oz, with scope and rings That's about perfect for me for an all around carrying hunting rifle! I am sure you got a few of thinking about our next builds.

Interested to see how good it shoots. Bet it's a laser! Bet it will shoot terrific. Pretty sure Shaen has some sort of magic pixie dust he uses on his 7MM-08 builds or actually all his builds. I can tell you the 2 7MM-08's he did for me are both outstanding shooters. To the OP - congrats on one beautiful build, excellent list of parts and should be a great hunting rig!!
