I just bought a Glock 48 to replace my Glock 19 as an EDC. Immediately had to switch out the trigger reset to a Ghost, and started shooting it. Takes a little more control than the heavier G19 but is a joy to carry. I think I'm gonna like it " Bigly". How's your experience been?

Think it’s a great choice, get a shield magazine and you will have the same capacity.

I really like mine & shoot it better than I thought I would. Able to get a better grip on it so can control it well.

new sights
new trigger
Shield mags
And a steel mag release

I’ve seen enough bad stuff about the shield mags that I wouldn’t trust one
I wanted something smaller than my G19 and thought I’d end up with a 43 or 48. I ended up with a P365

I'm hearing better things on the Shield Gen2 mags. I'd test them before carrying them though. I really like the G48 concept, as the G19 is a bit chunky for my hands.
Now with even more aplomb

The past couple of weeks I've been checking out new carry guns. I held so many different things that I can't even tell you what they all were. I narrowed my selections down to three. P365XL, G43X, and a Hellcat. I thought the Hellcat has the best sights, but it was the smallest in my hand and didn't feel as good as the other two. The G43X has just a touch more finger room for my pinky finger and it just felt better to me over the P365XL. The girl at the gun shop, who sold me the last 2 handguns, was currently out with people waiting. All 3 are back ordered because they lifted the CCW restrictions here and now they're handing out permits like candy. She can't keep them in stock, but she has the Glocks coming in weekly and I think my number is about to come up. The other gun shop around the corner has one in tan, but I want black. Plus, those guys are the new guys on the block and I don't really know them. They just opened about a month ago, but nice enough guys. She said she might have me a gun by the end of this week.
I'm thinking I'll like it and you will too.

I liked those quite a bit, and the trigger was a definite factor!

Having owned a couple of P320s and using several P365/XLs, and being confident that the Sig trigger was the best in the business, I bought a P365X from a catalogue order operation.
My trigger is better than a buddy's stock G48, but only marginally. It'll smooth up with use. That seems to be how my luck runs with things. Better to buy off the shelf at a stocking dealer.

AFAIK, the stock Glock triggers are what they are and do not get better with use. Take it for what it's worth, as I have never owned a Glock pistol. Just about all my friends do own Glocks. Trigger replacements are normal, and no big deal.
If i were to own a Glock, it would be the G48. And i was tempted that way.

I picked up a 43X about a year ago (replaced the Kahr CW9). Added tritium sights, Hogue grip sleeve, Shield Arms mag release and Gen2 magazines. It's been a great carry piece so far. I got some IWB Kydex from Concealment Express. The whole package with 15 rounds of the Underwood 68gr and holster is just under 26 ounces.

I have and carry a Glock 48. I replaced the factory trigger with a Johnny Glock trigger and it was a good decision and I would do it again. I trust the Glock mags. I don’t trust the Shield magazine feedback I’m seeing from some shooters. Personally I’m good with the redundancy of two ten round magazines on me.

I bought a silver slide one and loved it, retired the G19. Of course I had to add big dot sights. I moved on to the MOS version, I still have the silver one. I like and use the Shield mags, added a Hogue grip to beef it up a tad. 40 yard Eli drill shows its utility.

I have the original silver slide model and the newer mos version. Love them both but I did also switch the trigger shoe to the Johnny glocks smooth trigger face. I've been using the shield mags in both guns for about 2 years now( have 5 of them) and haven't had and malfunctions with ball or hp ammo..... about 1500rds in one pistol and a 1000 in the other. Great pistol.

I looked at one when I had G26. I passed because it had nothing to offer over what I already had. The difference between G48 and G19 is infinitesimal. The empty weight difference is about 2 ounces. Most defeat G48 advantage by buying inherently less reliable 15 round magazines.😶 The G48 is more suitable to people with smaller hands and or excessive fat around waistline (very unhealthy). With about 10-15 lb weight loss the G19 should become G48 if one carries about beltline.

The days of a need to justify a new gun purchase are over. The opposite here. Once you have so many choices to stick towards so many uses, It's hard to justify buying more. Especially new, taking the value loss. Now as to bargins? Cheap is a justification on its own merit. Every gun I regret buying was a deal!
