I just realized my NEF .357 magnum has a 22" barrel!!! Way longer than I was thinking it was. Hence, I believe I need to do some load development to optimize that long barrel.

Has anybody out there already done some load workups for a 22" .357? What would you recommend I start looking at for poweders, etc?

I am thinking of using 158 grain JSP/JHP bullets unless somebody has a better recommendation!?!

Thanks!

A max load of H110 will get you close to 1800 fps with a 158 gr bullet, and shoots great in my H&R. I haven't tried Lil Gun yet but it's supposed to be a little faster. The 125 gr bullets will get you over 2200 fps.

IMR4227 was very accurate from the one I had, but the velocity wasn't as high as you'd see with something like LilGun, H110, or Accurate#9.
