I'm still researching the Fox Sterlingworth. It's serial number 105547 with "Compressed Steel" 28" barrels and a Philadelphia address. Locks up tight. I'll get out my choke gauge when I take photos.

Here's the two M70 rifles. The pre-war (1940) rifle has the Lyman 45 WJS receiver sight. I'd love to strangle the guy who put the aftermarket pad on the 1940 rifle :-(

Here's the Remington 03-A3. Looks like some stock parts have been replaced, but a good shooter grade to play with. I'm thinking $824 + $60 to ship, as I won't be able to break it down to avoid the Priority Mail length surcharges.

Here's the Fox Sterlingworth. It's a 12ga, 28" M&F from the Philadelphia days. Locks up tight, but has some rust marks near the action that would polish down to improve the appearance. $695 + $35 shipping.

It is tough to tell from the pictures but has the stock been cut on the '40 Model 70 or just a pad added? Is the notch for the "dog tooth" still on the top of the stock? What are the prices on them? I assume the rear bridge on the '40 hasn't been drilled?

How about $925 + $35 Priority Mail for the 1955 rifle. On the 1940 rifle, the receiver is D&T's. The LOP over the pad is 13 3/4", so the butt was trimmed to fit it. That one is hard to value with the mods made to it. I'd like to strangle whoever added the pad :-(

Hey, someone pointed out that the 1955 Model 70 is a Featherweight rifle, not a Standard Model 70.

I'm interested in the pre-war Model 70, and yeah, it's a shame what was done to it. Asking price?
