Been getting some breeze and rain. Watching the tube and their reporting is BS. Cat 4? Highest sustained wind reports I’ve seen are in the neighborhood of 100 mph, and that includes the eye wall.

Oh, the DRAMA. Yes but that storm is moving slow and even if the storm surge is half of the predicted it will still destroy Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte. Sanibel Island will be destroyed. I expect Sanibel Island to look like Mexico Beach did after Micheal.

Oh, the DRAMA. DD, your background is sneaking out, I too have only found one site with anything near 100kts, KRSW...... and that is a 'gust' I haven't found a sustained hurricane force wind yet..... It'll certainly be bad down their, but not Cat 4 bad, IMHO....

I bought gas for the generator, water, a chainsaw chain, and a couple more extension cords to get ready for the storm. That means it probably won't even rain here in Georgia. I did what I could to kill Ian off.

My friends in the Glades are A-OK, Naples and Fort Myers are screwed.
Friends on Sanibel Island Siesta Key have a solid 12ft of surge water, their in there attic taking refuge.
Coastal Ft Myers is under water.

Right after I posted last time there was a clip on Fox that included a pickup truck with shell camper driving thru one of the "ground zero" communities, sort of like it was looking for a liquor store....

I have an uncle in Naples. He works in Marco Island. May not have a place to work or live for a while. Been talking about moving to Georgia or Missouri for tax reasons.
