I was talking with a Bud this weekend about these bullets. I can not find an accurate load in my .257 Roberts with these bullets but his .257 Roy loves these bullets with IMR 4831. Sorry but I can not remember how much the powder charge was.

72 gr of IMR 7828 was too hot in my Vanguard with this bullet, but showed accuracy potential. I am going to drop down to 70 gr, load 3, then to 70.5 and 71 gr.

I've tried the 110 accubond in 3 different 25's. Two Roberts and a 25-06. None will shoot that bullet acceptably.

The puzzling part? Two of the rifles will shoot well under an inch with the 115 B. Tip, which is virtually identical in length. Go figure...

The thicker tappered jacket in the AB may be why it doesn't shoot like a BT. I have found the same with Sciroccos, they can be a bit touchy as well.

I have had good luck with 110AB's in a 257Roy VG (68-69grs R22) and in a couple 25-06's (53grs R22). Go figure but I think the 110 would/does shine in the bigger 257's (Roy, WSM or STW)

weatherby case, fed 215, 73.5 gr RL25, 110 accubond, 3.250 OAL (I think but not at home to double check OAL notes) This gives 3400 plus fps --yes chrono'ed. 74.5 gr gave a tick under 3500. In my sub moa vanguard this 73.5 load shoots well. mild. I can always turn it up a little. In my load development with this bullet rl 25 shot well from 70 gr on up. haven't wandered past 74.5 gr. Work up the load from below for your rifle. I like the accubond in the Roy because the higher BC can (theoretically take advantage of all that velocity the roy has to give) Just looking at that bullet tells me that it flys better than a tsx but still tough enough to get the job done. Not in the tsx league but still tough enough.

75 grains retumbo shoots over 3500 in my 26 inch barrel, but it might be pretty hot I don't know. Worked good on a bunch of deer and an elk though.

My Vanguard likes the 110 Accubond with 74 grs of Magnum (Western Powder Co) ignited with 215 Federal primers in Norma brass loaded to 3.34".Speed out of the 24" factory tube is 3418 fps.........whacked a few Big Mulies and one Mt Goat with the combo, works great. This is my bullet of choice for my Roy.....shoots .5", whats not to like about that grin

I ran that OAL today with the 100gr TSX's and, let me tell you, it worked at the range today! Wow! 70.5 and 72 RL-22 produced. My deer load is ready. Less than a month and the deer won't be liking me . . .

Thanks, Steelie.

Seated mine right at 3.200 and got similar results.
I can't remember who it was but it was in the 257RoyTi thread where the person had pictures of the different groups with the varied OAL's. I originally had them seated out way far, there's no telling how much time, powder, cussing and bullets that saved me.

If you still are interested, My load with the accubonds is 72gr. Retumbo with WLRM primers and resizd WW brass from a 7mm RM ( new brass). It shoots .5'' groups at 3500fps. My pic is a crappy one but you can see the accuracy.
