Carbon-Six Tikka "Prefit" 27 Nosler barrel. Did CarbonSix screw up the chambering? Here's a pic of the cartridge in the chamber as far as it will go.

Did you hand load that cartridge, or is it 'off the shelf'??

Looks to me that it is "short chambered" and you need the correct reamer and go/no go gauges.

Did you change anything else (stock, rail, mag, etc.)? If you did, check to make sure none of the screws or mag parts are contacting the bolt.

I'd talk to Carbon-Six, show them the pic, see what they have to say....

I removed the extractor and now it closes with a round. I might have to bevel the the leading edge.

Are you trying to chamber with the round just laying on top of the the mag follower, or are you pulling the round out of the mag with the bolt?????

I dropped the round in the chamber and cycled the bolt with the extractor removed.

I decided to order a stock Tikka bolt. Anybody know where I can find 27 Nosler Go/No Go gauges? My searches have been futile.

Not that familiar with the Tikka, but sounds like you don't have enough clearance for the extractor to snap over the cartridge rim when chambering. I would check for the correct rim diameter of your cartridges before modifying the rifle. Regardless, a good idea to call Carbon Six.

Yes, LRI. Anybody else have problems with this bolt?
