Looking for information on a recent purchase Remington 7600 chambered in 7/08 Rifle is in good condition except for clear coat chipping on wood stock, bluing is pretty good I would rate it at 80/85 % The rifle does not have engraving I have checked with Remington and Grice and both stated all records have been buried S/N is B8127275 Looking for info on age and should I bother refinishing the stock or leave as is I Have researched and have not found the same rifle Thanks Houston Left side of barrel has 57 stamped on left side

I'd leave it just the way it is. If you're used to pump shotguns its a natural action. Nothing wrong with the 7-08.

If I remember correctly Grice had limited runs of 7600s in 6MM, 7MM08, and 25-06. They bring big money these days.......

I bought a 7600 7mm-08 brand new in 94 and it had nothing to do with Grice at all.

There is a 2 letter code on the barrel showing year of manufacture. Remington website used to have the breakdown info. Good find.
