Here's Doug, wearing his Aussie Driza-Bone oil skin.

I used to have one back in the day, but the oilcloth was just too heavy for my liking. Always felt like I was wearing one of those lead vests they have you wear at the hospital for X rays.

I don't imagine that Cowboy slicker has the same negative connotation associated with City Slicker.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.

There is more common yellow slicker that is water proof and a white canvas duster semi water resistant. Don't know what the black one is. For riding, it has to have snaps so the legs can be either left open or closed.

Have had one of the original Outback Trading Stockman Dusters for 30+ years.
Great looking coat. But warm, dry and functional as all get out. Used to marshal AKC pointing dog hunter tests. All day long on cold days (and often wet) spent on horseback. The drover was the absolute PERFECT tool for the job.

They are a little heavy for walking around or working in, but I use mine (Kakadu) and chaps on my tractor snow blowing and blading the roads. Wonderful water protection, and the chaps with the coat snapped over legs really work well.
