How is everyone season going?
Opening day here and it is going to be 80 and dry. Not what I was hoping for. It worked out though.
Been kind of watching 4 young toms over the last few weeks and thought they might cross my field in the mid morning. And low and behold a Thanksgiving miracle, they did.
Just a blue steel and walnut 20ga o/u with TSS shells. Oh and I forgot I had blue jeans on. Kind of old school.
Thanksgiving dinner is assured. 😎

Nice bird !!!

Our season comes in on the 29th of this month. But that's when our rut is kicking in. I usually only hunt fall turkeys AFTER a good buck does something stupid in front of me. For as much as I eat, sleep, breathe and live spring birds...... I never saw fall as much of a challenge.

Fall turkey is my favorite season for these birds. Unlike Yoder, the spring hunt doesn't do much for me any more. Plus I like a wild bird for thanksgiving.

Nice job,

Our season actually comes back in Wednesday, Thanksgiving day and Friday. It would be pretty neat to go out and get one Thanksgiving morning and have it for the day's meal.

From the pic of your setup it looks like that was a nice, relaxing hunt.

Thank you for the compliments. Yes, Citori Grand Lightning. I bought it in 2000. Knife is a trout and bird knife made by a man named Olsen it was my father’s.

There's a Grand Lightning here at Cabela's - was anyway, 16 gauge with super fancy engraving and gold accents in it. Pretty gun...
