A food truck next to a mex tire shop is a sure thing around here. Boiled peanuts explain how the south lost the war, they should have stuck w/ fried pies. Mutton tacos on squaw bread are the bomb.

On the road to the gun club there's a guy with a real beat up looking trailer, sells balled goobers a few days of the week. I stop for some sometimes but not too often cause I'm trying to keep the salt down and too many of them trigger the gout. He has three kinds: plain, cajun and with ham hocks. They are good...love me some balled goobers.

I can eat a whole can of the hot ones by myself. Back pre C19 the gas stations had the big vats of them simmering for lord knows how long that you dipped out yourself, good stuff.

And yea I eat at all kind of sketchy looking stands, restaurants, and messcan burrito dealers.

Too many peanuts will definitely set off my gout, also. And I love peanuts. 🥲

Went to New Mexico for a 2 week trip to help my uncle and cousin build uncles retirement cabin. Dark skinned grandma type in a Shasta camper that they cut the side out of and had plywood on some hinges. She sold lunch for $5. Was something different each day. Didn't know what some of them were, but ate lunch nearly every day for all 7 months of my 2 week trip..... Ashland, the good old days when a guy could sleep in the unfinished basement of a partially built cabin and keep visiting the neighboring cabins daughter who was spending the summer at her rich folks get away cabin.....

Try one can Jim.

You all think it don't exist???

I guarantee you the Wetback Taco Trailers here do it. I’ve seen them in the grocery store stocking up with their EBT cards.

If they are selling their stuff at a non union job site it’s probably a wash….

I kinda want to load up in a 1978 Chevy van with Conrad and head south to see what he/we won’t eat.

Boiled peanuts, boiled okra. Book it!
Colored greens? Iffy.

If one isn't a spoiled brat picky, good food is good food.
Tastes vary, as to favorites.

Souse, is more my area.
It ain't good food and I hope to never want to eat it again!

Masons, VFW, Churches, all manner of outfits sell "plates". BBQ, chicken, fish are the staples.

Sounds good!

Make sure you spray paint “Free Candy” on the side of the van….that way you look legit and non-threatening. 😁

Canned boiled peanuts are OK, but not near as good as fresh.

Roadside? A few years ago a huge gasline was constructed across northern Nevada. 45 miles off the highway remote, really remote. A guy I know has two teen daughters and they decided to sell coffee to the pipeliners where the access road goes through their ranch. First morning in the pre dawn darkness, here's the kids out on the road with 2 gallons of coffee hot on the branding burner. Crew bus stops, backs up, "Is that coffee I smell?". Glen said the kids sold out in ten minutes, didn't make any money on coffee...but the tips were crazy generous. By the time summer was over, the girls who have to board and room in Winnemucca (110 miles to school) during the school year, had a tidy sum for their recreation fund. Those pipeliners and construction stiffs really took care of those kids.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.
