I had the Mooselette out for her first KY Yute Hunt yesterday.

This was my first time hiking on uneven ground since the Chemo. I'm still not able to feel my feet, but lacing them up in my big camo Herman Munster boots kept my ankles from rolling. I was traveling slow, so we took off about a half hour early. I had to use a hiking staff and we made a few stops along the way. It was down in the low 30's. We took plenty of extra layers.

We didn't see or hear a single one. We did hear a couple of shots taken by distant neighbors, but the action was slow overall. It's fairly common for the deer to disappear when we have a dry September and not reappear until the last week in October.

I used to get asked that by women I worked with.

I’d reply, “Let’s be clear, I’m not trying to catch them, I’m trying to kill them”.

Most were fine with that, but one real beauty stormed out of the breakroom in a huff when I told her I was eating a Bambi sandwich.

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.
