I'm thinking about getting one for around the house. Don't need to cut anything bigger than 3-4" diameter.

What are some good ones that don't cost and arm and a leg. No pun intended.

I have a Remington electric that I think I gave $70 at one of the box stores.

Bastard refuses to die and paid for itself in one day of use.

Have you any other battery-powered equipment in the garage? If I was to get one, it would work with my 40v Ryobi power head. Convience.

If you have a generator or other 110v power, a corded one will save you a lot of money.
Last year I bought a Black & Decker from Home Depot. It was the only brand they had in stock. The quality control is pure crap. It has a coiled wire through the pole so it stretches. It was pinched between 2 pieces in the handle and shorted out. I took it back and traded it. This time, when I put it together, the hand grip was upside down. The 3d one works ok but I sure wouldn't recommend it.

The ryobi electric I purchased 3 years ago has performed well the 3 times I've used it......just a backyard tool within 75' of an outlet......

I can get away with a cord, especially if it saves money. I'd only be using it a couple times a year.

Same here. I use it with a generator a lot down my road to the house to trim cottonwoods and at the campground to trim pines. The cap to the oil tank got lost years ago, so I just oil the bar with a squeeze bottle.

I'm surprised how well the chain has stayed sharp.

Was that the Portland brand saw? It's the only one with a cord on their website.

WORX are cheap and work well for just around the yard. 10 inch blade and battery works well. Got the 10 ft pole for higher tree limbs.

My chainsaw is a STIHL MS 261 CM.

I've got a Greenworks 40v pole saw and love it. I don't do anything heavy duty but it works great around my house. 3-4" is about all I would want to use it for.

I buy these things for a job, not to keep. I return them when the job is over.

The Remington Electric is the best I’ve used, ryobi plus the worst
