Took a flyer on a 16 ga stevens 620 has no markings on the receiver ,has a engraved bird scene on each side of reciever , Monte Carlo cheek piece stock, has anyone ever seen 1 or have any info? Sorry no pics quite yet
Had several 520s, which were the humpbacked predecessor to the 620. Well-built chunks of American steel goodness. Another shotgun design (the original anyway) by John Moses Browning. I always liked the design of the takedown feature of those guns.
I've got a Western field same thing as the 620. I picked it up out of the classifieds on here late last year or earlier this year. Well made gun designed by John Browning. Pretty interesting takedown design, only real complaint is the slide release is a little tougher to find than my model 12s. Mine has an added recoil pad and screw in chokes. While I prefer mostly original shotguns these changes don't hurt the value only make it more user friendly
As mentioned above, they are take down guns, it may or may not have a disconnector so you can hold the trigger down and fire it with racking the slide. They eventually corrected this. Beautiful machining on the take down. They were Stevens/Sears/Wards etc guns so the side may say anything. I think mine says Ranger but that may be my 520.
