I never even knew Winchester made a left-hand Model 70. When did they start making left-hand Model 70's?

End of 1997 was the first I had heard of them. I bought 2 right away, even though I was in grad. school at the time! grin

Thanks, I never knew. Guess I'll have to keep an eye out. Wouldn't mind one in 7mm Mauser. One of the nicest rounds I've ever shot.

Derby Dude, They never made them in 7X57. I am having a SS lefty M70 rebarreled to 7X57 in the next few weeks! I can't wait! I hope it might be done in time for my Dec. cow elk hunt.

Hntr,
I appreciate the offer..I tired of hunting in the East. President Bushes Marine One keeps spooking my deer as it flies over head.

Did winchester ever make a short action LH model 70? I thought they just made long actions in left hand.

Yes, but only in the WSM calibers, so the bolt face is too big to be used for .473 sized cases like the .308, .243 etc.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

They also made them to fit the extra long 375 H&H. I got mine in 2004, their last year of production for the left handed Classic Safari Express.

What would be the fair market value for a M70-LH 30-06 production year (1999) with Leupold VX-III 1.75-6X32mm heavy duplex Leupold bases and rings. Little used as I dont go deer hunting any more. To the best of my recollection I purchased two boxes of 150 Gr Silvertip with 15 remaining so would be twenty five rounds fired thru it. Absolutely minimal wear and usage. Thank you.

Well, it looks like the Model 70 is going to be made again, but I saw no mention of LH offerings...yet. http://outdoorlife.blogs.com/thegunshots/2007/10/winchester-mode.html
