This guy grew up just down the street from me. We were in Cub scouts together. His mom was our den mother. Went swimming at his house all the time. He's a little younger n me. The dude arrested, not deceased.

Another victim of the "victimless crime".

I've aged like a protein shaker bottle left in your trunk for 2 weeks in the summer and he's looking 15 years older n me.

Lots of talk about nature vs nurture. Guy grew up 5 houses down. Sure wasn't nature.

guy in the pic looks kinda angry. I see the dead guy was on antidepressant meds. Some sort of sleeping pills. and doing opioids. bad cocktail of drugs to be mixing.

Fentanyl will get ya, mixed or not. Though I’ve heard people wonder why a drug dealer would want to kill of their customers. Big profit margin, I guess.

I have been working a lot near the Kensington neighborhood in Philly, which is the most drugged up place I have ever seen. Some people there have told me the intent is never to kill the customers but to offer them a product that gets them higher than anyone else's by cutting in some Fentanyl.

The stuff can be so powerful that measurement error combined with cutting it into a small batch can put it a bit over the line resulting in some dead junkies.

The guys who've told me about this don't seem like they were top of their class in mathematics so that is likely a factor as well.

Let them have all the fentanyl they want. If they are stupid enough to use it or any other drugs, let nature take its course. Culling the heard.

A good friend (General Contractor) lent me his lead carpenter for a couple of weeks on a build.

Wanna solve the “drug problem “ fast?

1. Decriminalize drug use/possession/sale
Thus would bring the cost down to where it’s no longer profitable…eliminate a whole criminal infrastructure

2. Shut own all publicly-funded “rehab” programs.

3. Shut down all social welfare programs

4. Eliminate all unconstitutional infringements on 2nd Amendment rights.

It would get kinda rough and rowdy for a while, but in 10 years society would be a cleaner, better place.

The big drawback , of course, is that we’ve grown such a huge .gov industry just to (ineffectively) deal with the problem that it would never fly. The majority of cops and social workers would have to find real jobs. Very little need also for “special education “ teacher, staff and facilities …yeah, it would never fly, too many people making too much money on it.

He looks like the mid-40's meth heads that I see everywhere here. A few kids I went to HS with...same way. Well one killed his girlfriend before swallowed a shogun. So, he looks different.

Drugs are bad, peer pressure and bad friends are also a factor.

Giving someone dangerous drugs falsely identified as the drugs the purchaser wanted is certainly not a victimless crime. Had the dead man, however, died from taking fentanyl, and he knew that's what he was taking, then that would be a victimless crime, since no one would then have forced him to do (or tricked him into doing) it.
