I’d say that this is the beginning of a trend. High profile moderates will leave the party because it no longer represents them. Voters who find themselves in the same place will also leave.
The Republican Party will now find a base that it can be happy with and conservatives, constitutionalists and libertarian types will be pushed away.

Since she’d presumably represent Hawaii if she ever got into office again, that would count as a win of sorts, but I’d never trust her to vote as a conservative.
She should ride off into the sunset and find something else to do, but they never do that. Liz is going to try and fugg up the chances of Republican candidates. How noble of her!
