I went out to top up on my SK supply and was told none was in stock and the last planned shipment was due down here in mid-November. The shop dude said that Lapua were going to concentrate on their CF ammo only. Also mentioned flood damage to the SK factory might have impacted the decision.
Is this old news?

I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

Yeah first that I have heard, at least supply seems to be up some if its true but I did like SK ammo.

Fortunately I just received two bricks of SK RM today from a seller on RFC. I've got about three bricks of RM and down to less than a brick of Std+. My CZs seem to like SK ammo so I'd like to have more.

Hate to say how much my CZ likes the Biathalon and pistol match. Both shoot very nicely. So I for one sure hope this is only an internet myth.
I used to only shoot shotguns and rimfires, then I made the mistake of getting a subscription to handloader.......

Just text a friend of mine that's actually a distributor for SK and several other ammo varieties . Actually his wife is sponsored by Lapua.. he doesn't seem to think the rumors true he has no knowledge of such..

Sounding like I may have been misled.
Short of a catastrophy of some sort, it makes no sense that they would stop production, or even for the Aussie importer to drop it.
I'll catch up with the gun shop dude at some stage and see where he got his info from. In the meantime I'll keep stocking up when I find the stuff. Our local rifle range has Long Range Match on the shelf.
(Just speculating here but maybe he meant the Lapua rimfire ammo here. I've never used it since there's no cheap versions, and the SK just shoots so good. I've got some Eley Tenex if I want to shoot off some expensive ammo but that's only for special occasions.)

If and when they reply I'll post here. I received a reply from SK this morning. No worries about SK rimfire ammo being discontinued, nor the factory shut down. I'll post the reply below. SK RIMFIRE ammunition plant is alive and well and still producing ammunition. Because inventory is still selling out almost immediately, your best bet would be to contact a few of your favorite dealers to get on a notification list to be notified when they get their next shipments. If you are waiting until you happen to find them in stock somewhere, you will likely be too late and miss out. Please see below for a list of dealer options near you.
