I've always had good accuracy and good performance on game (whitetails and pigs) with them.

I have used these for years and they are not the most accurate bullet in my rifles but as far as on game performance they have never let me down...For the money they are hard to beat just like Sierra Prohunters and Hornady Interlocks ....Hb

Ditto to the above post. IME they don’t provide was wide of a mushroom as Interlocks or CoreLokts - but they do offer deeper penetration. Newer, more complicated bullet designs work of course, but for the vast majority of shooters they offer no real advantage. I’ve never been disappointed in HotCore accuracy or terminal performance. The photo is of the .358” 180-grain HotCore unfired and after firing into a hog from a 14” Contender chambered to .35 Remington. This expansion is IME typical of HotCores I’ve fired.

Good bullet!, and my favorite hunting bullet. I've been using the Hor-Cors for a very long time and their on game performance has been excellent for me. Also they have always been accurate in my rifles.

The Whitetail deer hunters in our deer camp that use Savage 99s with 1:14 twist use the 87 gr Speer HotCor and I use it in my Savage 99-A with a 1:10" twist. Accurate and great performance on deer. I used the 130 gr HotCor in a 7x57 to take my last 4 Antelope.

I like em, and I use em. But whenever I have a choice, I prefer Interlocks.

They have killed a bunch of hogs and deer over the years.
They work good once you figure the right load for your rifle.

I’ve killed every deer I hit with them and never had any issues getting them to shoot.

I use the .243 105 gr. spitzer in the .243 Winchester at a bit over 2800 fps on deer with great results. In fact, that bullet is also very accurate in my Model Seven, shooting sub 1" groups reliably. The 170 gr. Speer flat point is the most accurate bullet in my Marlin 336 .30-30. At 2100 fps it is deadly on big woods deer and hogs.

I have only hunted with the 250 gr .358 out of my Ruger M77 RS Whelen. Accurate and two Alberta black bear and one south Texas nilgai did not like them.

My first experience with them was in my first centerfire rifle, a Remington 788 in 6mm. I shot the 80 grain spitzer over 4831 and the first load shot under half an inch. I used that load as the only load in my 6mm for several years. It killed a lot of woodchucks and coyotes. I did load the 100 grain HC in that rifle for deer but never got the opportunity to take one with it. My next rifle was a Winchester 70 in 257 Roberts and I used the 120 HC flat base. It slayed deer well. That is one of those rifles I truly regret trading off.
I have used a number of Hot Cores in various weights and diameters. They have all functioned well. I never used them in any magnum chamberings so cannot say how they would stand up to higher velocities. Accuracy wise I have always gotten good to excellent results.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

Good bullets that work. My one and only moose fell to a 200 grainer out of a 325WSM @ 450yds. No bullet recovery but a nice exit hole on a broadside shot. DRT.

Ditto to the above post. IME they don’t provide was wide of a mushroom as Interlocks or CoreLokts - but they do offer deeper penetration. That looks like pretty good mushrooming from a 14" barrel. I have been a Sierra guy for some time now but recent shortages have me trying out the 90 grain HC for my 6mm Rem and a 140gr in my 260 Rem. Loaded a few but yet to shoot them. Confidence for them on game is high based on others reports- if they prove to shoot well for me.

90 grain HC for my 6mm Rem I believe that bullet was developed for the 244 Remington version so it should be all right.
