“We have received several emails indicating this is counterfeit. We have double checked with Zeiss and they had no information for us but suggested we get in touch with EuroOptic. EuroOptic confirmed these were produced by Meopta under contract through Zeiss for EuroOptic as a special offering a number of years ago.”
According to the listing

According to the listing It may be a legitimate Zeiss riflescope, but because it makes people wonder if it's fake, I would not want it..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

This looks nothing like a Meopta or a Zeiss. I wouldn't gamble on it either way. It looks a lot like the Chinese "tactical" scopes from the early to mid-2000s. I believe some of the brands that used a similar design were Vector, Falcon, Apex, and several others. I could see no country of origin on it from the pictures. I don't trust it, not for that price. Add in the 10 mil per click marking, it stinks of Chinese junk with a misunderstanding of what scope click values should be.

The Zeiss logo is close but not one I have ever seen. It should be flat across the top, not curved. A definite sign that is a fake IMO. If Meopta was indeed making them for Zeiss, or Europtic, a copyrighted logo would have been required.

I’d ask EuroOptic about it.

It should state where it was made. I have never seen anything like that.

The seller has over 21K A+ ratings, and excellent comments about all his sales and this is obviously how he makes his living. I do not think he'd risk his reputation on a fake scope. All it takes is 1 bad review to kill online sales.

There were Zeiss Conquest scopes made with the EuroOptic logo on the ocular, but this is not one of them. It is -- without a doubt -- a fake. There seem to be several on auction sites almost any time you look. One San Antonio, TX seller -- with over 99 percent positive feedback -- had one on ebay recently and did not delete or correct it even though it was shown to them to be completely fake. Here it is -- weeks after this pawn shop was shown that it was a cheap clone. fake Zeiss

Both of those are fakes. That V4 is nowhere close to a V4 LOL

That scope body looks exactly like a Blackhound or Primary Arms of current production, both in China. I'd stay away, personally.
History repeats itself because it worked. If it didn’t work in the first place, it wouldn’t be history but another lost story of insignificance.

There are lots of Chinese-made fake Leupold and Zeiss scopes out there just waiting for an unsuspecting buyer.
So many fakes that if you're not sure, it would be better to save your money until you are sure.

Apparently all brands of scopes and binoculars have problems with fakes being made and sold online. I guess buying from reputable stores is a must now now and check with manufacturers they they are real
