That is really slabbed looking grain in the butt from the straight on the receiver and forearm area. Lower trunk cut above the ground line looking almost. The color is a nice shade of lower brownish to my eye Beautiful wood. Pics never do wood justice no matter how good the pic is. Outside in varying light conditions and held angles will bring out things to been seen continuously when ya get it done The tru oil should bring out alot of depth in it also. πππ

I need to run and gun tommorow in 9A.
Thinking about it versus sitting on that field again.
Got more opportunity covering about 2 to 3 miles in the wood line.
Might be able to get a response to some calling on the move, or come across some flocked up Tom's and get a shot.
Also do some deer sign scouting also.
Nothing to lose everything to gain sort of thing.
