I have a blued/wood Ruger mini-14. Serial# says it’s a 2001 model. Metal is perfect. Wood has some small rubs and dents from bumping other guns in the safe. I have two 5rd, one 10 rd, and one 30 rd magazine. Where would y’all place the value of this rifle? Thanks

Check Gunsamerica.com or Gunbroker for recently closed auctions. But I would say maybe $900

A used blue Mini 14 can be had in the $500 - $600 range at gun shows around my area. As noted on another thread here, the lack of accuracy diminishes the value of these guns.

I know they used to be $500-600 but I have been seeing prices all over lately for them.

Here in central Florida you're going to pay $800-$1,000 for a decent one.....

I had no takers locally for a SS Ranch with five 5-round mags, two 30-round, buffered, degassed, with a PA Cyclops at $1000. I kept it, and mounted a SWFA 1-4. Have seen new blued ones at $995 IIRC. Go figure.
My impression was most who called about it wanted an illegal, across the line, paper-free deal. That applies to other stuff as well, not just deadly lung-‘sploding, fastest bullets on earth weapons of war.
What fresh Hell is this?

100yd garbage can lid accuracy..... at least for the first 8 rounds, the last 22 rounds are anybody's guess. (What good is a "close range" 223?) I'll never buy another one.

I guess I must have a slightly “accurized” one. Mine does minute of Skoal can lid with 55 jhp and fmj’s at 100 yards. Guess I’ll hang on to my “tack driving” Mini. Doc_Holidude

Fireball2: I went through an extended "Mini-14" phase myself - MANY years ago. No more! As some vaunted outdoor writer once proclaimed - "only accurate Rifles are interesting"! If one is intent upon procuring a slam-banger in 223/5.56 then ones monies are 10 times better "invested" with the AR platform! Been there, done that. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

Go to perfectunion.com to get a value and to list it for sale. The skinny barrel Mini's (pre 580 series) are no longer in demand like the newer heavier barrel mini's but there are guys who know how to get the best out of their rifles. It also depends on how soon you want to move the rifle. The lower (more fair) the price the quicker it's going to move.

This thread sums up my experience w/ the Mini. I had an earlier '182' series. Their were some chop shops back then that would overhaul them replete w/ fat barrels and make them shoot. But you would have been paying several hundreds of dollars to defeat the purpose of a light weight walkin' around rifle.
As-has been said many times in many ways , , , get an AR and don't look back.
However, I do have a however. Were I to stumble on a 5-eighty/aught model for cheap enough, I would be tempted to futz w/ it. If you could wring four, dare I say three '' ( +/- ) at a hundred yards , I'd call it good.
