What's the best electric crock pot? It'd be a bonus if it weren't made in China.

The insert in our 20yo Hamilton Beach 6qt. broke. Larger would be better. There's so much junk out there, I figured I ask you guys.

Thanks!

Just check out Salvation Army and Goodwill thrift stores for a new insert. Found a new lid for ours that way.

Write or Call Hamilton Beach. I did and they sent me a new crock. I even told them it was my fault the first one broke. Doubt if you can find any electric small appliance that is not made in China or made by a company China doesn't own. We need to wade out of the swamp.

I'll call them tomorrow!

That's a beautiful piece of equipment, but their 6qt is $419!

Sounds like you'll have to deliver a few extra handjobs this month.

LOL

Just got one of those "InstaPots" a few days ago - Crock Pot brand, ten qt, cooked a pork shoulder (10#) for one hr and it fell off the bone. Cooked Posole with green chilies and pork, done in 20 min, tasted like it had been slow cooked for 5 hrs.
The cook times do not include the time it takes to come up to temp, about 20 min.

I got an Instanpot from Costco couple of years ago. Lost the little valve and discovered Instapot didn't make replacement valves for that model. So, be careful where you buy. Also, Instanpots not only don't include the heating up time in a recipe, they don't include the pressuring down time. (Between the two, it's about an hour.) Unless you have really tough meat or you can't chew at all, a Dutch oven still beats the Instapot's clock. And you can always stick a dutch oven stew/soup/chili in the oven at 300 for 2-3 hours. No babysitting.
Now, the AirFryer is a whole other animal. Can't imagine not having one. Now.

Elieen,

I'd love to hear some of the things you like using your air fryer for. We really like ours but I feel like I use it for just a handful of things
