That is odd and I have never heard of a whitetail with them. Elk ivories are supposedly remnants of canines that have 'de'evolved.
Muntjac and Chinese water deer still have actual canines, but this is actually the first I have heard of a whitetail having them, even if they're small and not what we normally think of as "canines". Interesting...

Did some digging https://www.themeateater.com/wired-to-hunt/whitetail-management/why-some-whitetails-grow-fangs"For reference, you’re at least 10 times as likely to tag a multi-bearded tom, and you’re more than twice as likely to spot a piebald whitetail than you are to kill one with upper canines. So if you find a set of these fangs on your next whitetail, you’ve scored a rare trophy." Guess my son has a horseshoe up his butt, he's already killed a doubled beared turkey, a piebald doe, and now this.

We have killed several in the past 8-10 years. Probably quite a bit more we’re missed before we started doing more European mounts.

How about these? . . . . . . . . . . . (ok, I cheated. This is a llama)

My friend Auto5 sent me this picture. It was taken last year just over the hill from our camp.
