I dragged this bugger for about 2.5 miles and he wasn't even that big. My goodness....why not just break it down and pack it out in pieces? …or go get a 4 wheeler, or get the photographer to help. You cant in Maine Deer , bear , moose. Whole carcass to tag. BTDT in T32MD T34MD, Milford. My options back in the late 70,s early 80,s Get all the drunk old fugg,s back at camp and my friends to help drag Always hear the all you young guys shoot deer too far away. All us young guys were the only ones killing deer though. Killed a 205 pd dressed out 10pt in 2000 in T34MD. Had to go get my drunk azz sleeping it off friends who used to kill deer to come help me drag it out. Bout a 2 mile drag to the truck as far in as I could get it on a twitch trail backing up. Alot of places you cant get a wheeler into up their. Alot of big moose are encountered but never shot up their also. You would need a skidder and a couple of guys with chainsaws to get the fuucking things out. Most moose hunting up their is vehicle road based cruising looking for one easy to get out. Get out and take the shot. All because of the dumbazz whole carcass to tag law. They also ain't got no sunday hunting either. The state could make a fortune be adopting a 10 or 20 dollar sunday hunting permit in the unincorporated townships only. That way none of the fuddy Duddy old fuggs would hear gun shots over the church bells. Maine has had several court case,s concerning their Sunday hunting law defeated over the last couple of years also. And they have a right to nourishment something or other law up their also which has been used as a pretext in these court actions to no avail. The "T,s" are unincorporated blocks of Forrest up their usually 4x4 mile squares unless a boundary is a geographic feature. I really wanta go and hunt in my home state again. But it is what it is .... And Honk for Joey inflation is ridiculous here in TN I can only imagine what it is like in Maine price wise now.

My pond in late July/early August. The spill way is yet to be finished. We raised the dam about 5 feet. If it were to fill today it would be 13-14 feet. After the spillway is done probably about 16 feet deep.

T Inman; Top of the morning my friend, I trust the Tuesday start up is going well for you wherever you're at now. Thanks for the photo of the muskox! We saw our first ones in that game farm just north of Whitehorse this summer. They were smaller than I'd expected for whatever reason and the baby calves were the cutest balls of fuzz we'd seen in a long time! I'll end with random photos from years back. Fairly big Okanagan bear I saw for maybe 5 years in a row in the same area. The girls called this a "Battle Toad" as it was just below freezing, yet there it was way up top and still moving, just not fast. These two Doug Firs are/were about 4' at the base, not quite. A year after this photo a microburst blew down the straight one on the right. Then last year's fire burned it, but the bent one is still up there and though scorched seems fine. It's a landmark for me to find my way back to the truck... Thanks again for the muskox photo, they are such cool beasties. All the best and good hunting T. Dwayne

Who the hell could drag a whole moose very far? Not my fat azz! Dude I have encountered 220 230 class moose up their in the middle of the willy wacks. Snow mobilers find sheds in late winter if ya put a 60 inch spread into factor. Scores would be in the 230,s 240,s with a pair. I got a 2000 Maine and skull trophy club book. I placed 23rd in typical WTD rifle that year with a 155. But for every cat that enters. Probably 5 or 6 other guys that killed something similar don't enter Couple of my friends and relatives have multiple entries in Mastc and biggest bucks in Maine club over 200 dressed out.
