My Grandmother was 75 years old when she iced this Walleye in January '87 or '88. It went 32-3/4", and a touch over 15lbs. We had a plaque with all the particulars, but it managed to disappear.

She was using 10 pound monofilament, and her favorite Lake Trout jig the Flowering Flora. The jig was baited with the largest sucker minnow in the bucket.

The taxidermist took care of the cost in return for displaying it that year at The Sportsmen Show held every year in Minneapolis. It sits in my folks basement covered up and forgotten. I thought maybe it should see the light of day again. For our part of the world, it's a once in a lifetime catch on open water, but even rarer to have one this big come through the ice.

My Grandfather was going to fillet it. He said "If I don't eat this fish now, I'll be eating it for the rest of my life".😁

Hats off to you Kent; it’s wonderful enough to be given a beautiful and loving woman. It’s even better yet to have been gifted one who loves the outdoors such as yours does.
