I bought this rifle new in about 1975 because it was available in LH . Bagged lots of deer and elk . I never messed with it in anyway except to keep it clean .about 3 years ago as I was getting ready to shoot a deer it went of before before I was ready to shoot . I measured the pull later and it was just under 2 # . I do not know what the pull was originally however it was definitely more than 2 # by far . I am curious to know what would cause the pull to be lighter after all those years although it has been packed and shot a lot .

Could be some buildup of dirt or oil or a combination of the two, which is preventing full sear engagement. This is the most likely cause. GD
