Walkin' the dogs. Up the creek and around the volcanic rocks, sagebrush, bitterbrush, and junipers and back to the home place. Mile and a half or so.

Didn't put the boots on, sandals were all this old man needs.

Thanks,

Well, I did forget to put a firearm or target or dead critter in there or I'd have made the perfect post???

Guess I've still got work to do.

I have had the same doe visit me for years, every year she has twins and brings them around , the other day we had three generations from her including a buck from last year.
They follow me around like dogs and my dog even likes them.

Haven't started on the deer here. Besides being illegal in this State, I'm not fond all the deer hanging out 3 miles up the road where some lady feeds them.........15 yards from the road.! Friggen things always popping out of the ditch there in front of folks' cars.

The ones around the house here have plenty of other stuff to eat though, so no need to feed them. Like the wild lettuce that grows over the drain field lines:

I feed the birds though, which is legal. (wildlife not legal, birds legal, makes sense, eh???) and this morning I must have had over 60 pinyon jays after the scratch I put out for them and the quail. And the invasive doves which I consider the emergency food supply if and when needed.

I feed them a few carrots... kinda like candy for them... we have a bunch of neighborhood deer they seem to understand crossing the road and never get hit.
More deer in the valley than the hills.... the hills are full of wolves... much easier living in the hood.... wink

Pre kill. Killed the little red/black Hampshire and one of the 2 on the right. The Hamp was actually white and not red. Oklahoma dirt for ya.

I'm gonna hit the west side of 9A tomorrow.
Run and gun.
Ain't had schit for luck and ain't seen a tremendous amount of turkey sign last 3 times.

Hopefully some other areas with some creeks and streams with water in em will open Friday for Fall SG turkey hunting.
This fall turkey hunting is a different game than spring.
New to me for sure...
Being in a area with birds would help too 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤣🤣
This might be a new thing for me if this 6 weeks cut off of SG and ML for deer on post stays the policy.
Or I might have to pick up a bow again and hunt these 6 weeks now that are only bow.
I dunno....
2007 is when I stopped bow hunting..
Been awhile, but It wouldnt take much to get good with a bow again.
