Garage reorganization, in throw-away mode, did find some prizes… any ideas what a guy can do with a 120v to 13v transformer?

Ring a doorbell, or power a HVAC thermostat. Probably obsolete since solid state controls came out a few decades ago.

Transformers only put out AC, but you can rectify that into DC if you want.
Take the 13V ac output and hook up to a full wave diode bridge. A couple of capacitors + to - to filter out the peaks and viola you've got a crude non-regulated battery charger or a 12V dc supply.
