Anybody have any luck dislodging a beaver dam with Tannerite? I have both and will probably give it a go before removing it the hard way. Just wanted to hear others’ experiences.

We do it every fall while doing some not-so-serious deer hunting. Between my hunting pard and I, we have over 100lbs of the stuff.
It takes a lot and it has to be done right. We put it in as deep as we can get it to build the max pressure.
In the end, it's just for laffs and the beavers have it fixed up the next day.

Use the Tannerite as an initiator for a charge of ANFO.

They’ve dammed up the creek I cross to get to my hunting spot. It hasn’t rained here in over a month, and the water is level with the floorboard of my 4x4 Tacoma. Normally it would only be a few inches deep. I expect if you get the right limb, the creek will help remove the rest. I’m sure a good rain would remove it.
If that don’t work, I’ll have to do it by hand. That’ll probably get my azz wet!

After you get a hole in the dam, put in a long drain pipe at the level you want. The beavers don't realize the leak is far from the dam. Lots of drain pipe ideas, and other methods in this PDF. https://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/wildlife_pdf/nuisancebeaver.pdfBruce

Just curious why one would want to remove a pond?
Down here, landowners pay significant money to bring in heavy equipment to build ponds for wildlife and livestock.

There are several designs of "beaver deceivers", and they work very well. I had chronic problems with beavers trying to plug up the in take to the fish farm until I put one in. Worked for years without trouble.

Just curious why one would want to remove a pond? In our case, those beaver ponds go across access roads to the camp we use and some of the bush roads around it.

Use the Tannerite as an initiator for a charge of ANFO. Regular ANFO and water will result in an oil slick and dissolved fertilizer.

Down here, landowners pay significant money to bring in heavy equipment to build ponds for wildlife and livestock. Beavers are great builders but not so good as locators. They don't always build where you want or need it. A lot of stuff has been damaged or ruined by beaver dams in the wrong spot.

Regular ANFO and water will result in an oil slick and dissolved fertilizer. A couple of pounds of ANFO in a Tupperware container with a Tannerite kicker will be waterproof, and it will launch those beavers into low earth orbit. One .223 round into the Tannerite and it's showtime!

A cable snare is your friend. They move around this time of year, You kill one, another one moves in. I've never been able to prevent beaver damage by trapping alone.
