You can buy it online but it is expensive.

$40 to 60 a box and Ammoseek shows no one is offering for sale.

It's a bad time to take on a new/old rifle for which you don't have ammo or don't handload (and have a supply of primers - powder and bullets are filling the pipeline again but not primers yet). The old reliable cartridges are being neglected by the Big Ammo Companies in favor of newer whizbang stuff that serves the needs of Joe Average modern gun owner. That, and the gov't(s) filling their war chests and hogging significant percentage of factory output, not to mention the wild-eyed types who foresee The Apocalypse and are filling their freezers with 100's of thousands of primers and store-bought ammo...

Stuff like .250-3000, .32-20, .35 Remington, .222, etc. that was the mainstay of previous generations is being neglected almost to the point of extinction by kids (and my looking back from nigh 70 years of life, my definition of "kid" is probably a lot older than many of y'all's), and by extension the factories. I guess it's the way of a free market. Pity the old farts (like me I guess) who love playing with even older stuff - when's the last time you saw .25-20 Single Shot, .28-30, or .40-70 ammo/brass for sale, and even .32-40 & .38-55 brass/ammo is becoming non-existent.

The only cartridge that I have consistently seen on the shelf at Walmart has been the .350 Legend.

That was very generous of you.

The OP did not say 87 or 100gr or 1:10" or 1:14".
The OP did say "looking for another guy". crazy

I've plenty of 250 ammo . and I handload the ammo I use , I happen to to have 4 boxes of 100gr factory ammo.. that I don't really need
if someone needs the ammo . here in the group .. I'd pass it on

It's not been too bad here of late... closest Walmart to me a bit ago. 22LR, 22Mag 17 Mag, 223, 308, 30-06, 270, 7mmRM, 350 Legend and a crapload of shotgun birdshot they don't bother to keep in the case.

They had some 243, 30-30, and 222 recently, but it was all gone today. I know one of my buddies bought some of the 30-30 last week, cause he has his boy target practicing for his first rifle season over in Indiana next month.

I did notice that even when things were at their worst there was always a ton of 350 Legend.

I was at Cabela’s yesterday and the rifle ammunition verity selection was dismal.

I'm loathe to now say my stock reply "Ditch the store shelves and get thee a handloading setup", but the current primer crunch puts we handloaders in the same boat (unless of course a newbie has access to a "secret stash" somewhere). I'm proud to say I haven't purchased a box of store-bought ammo in over 20 years, and haven't set foot in a Walmart or Cabelas (Bass Pro) in about the same length of time. Couldn't even tell you exactly where the local Walmart is located.

If I were like Plab and had some .250 factory ammo I too would gladly give it to someone on this forum who needed it for hunting, but I don't and wish I did now. I think I'll start snagging the stuff if/when I'm at an auction/show and it can be had reasonably, if for no other reason than to help comrades in need in the future.

I have a lot I'd part with because none of my rifles will shoot it worth a [bleep]. However, legally shipping ammo seems to be a huge PITA.

I always used FedEx ground and never had a problem. It's been a while though. I haven't kept up with the changes in regs if there are any?

Last time I tried to send via FedEx it got x-rayed and they sent it back. You used to be able to send via UPS but had to go to a special/specific place to do it. That was years ago though. In any case, there is no UPS or FedEx place anywhere near me. I could maybe take it to my FFL guy and have him do it, but that's still over an hour and a half round trip.

You have to put an ORMD label on the outside of the box so they know it is loaded ammo. That used to take care of it with no hassle.
