So bidding on a 22 magnum Ruger 77/22 in stainless with that boat paddle stock, think it might be a nice addition to the collection.
Anybody shoot one?

I have one in Stainless/Synthetic. Not a boat paddle, just the regular black stock.
Mine doesn't like 30gr bullets.
Have really good accuracy with Federal Champion Target 40gr, product number 737

I have a stainless boat paddle 77/22 Magnum and have used it exclusively with Winchester 40 gr. HP ammunition. Mine shoots about 1 1/2 MOA if I do my part. I have a Leupold 6x36 fixed power scope with Long Range Dot reticle. I found that, if the rifle is zeroed at 100 yards, each dot gives me just about exactly 25 yards greater zero, so the 3rd one down is on at 175 yards.
I have used that rifle a great deal on prairie dogs, and have probably killed close to 2,000 PD's with it. It is one of my favorites and I have a large stash of ammo for it. I also have the same rifle in .22 LR and a boat paddle .30/06 to round out the trifecta. None of them are for sale. Great guns in my opinion.

I've got a M77 in SS/walnut and - like a poster above - it prefers bullets heavier than 30gr... It's one of my favorite varmint rifles..

Anybody shoot one? I had one for a few years. I traded it for a 9422 magnum after a jackrabbit safari with a buddy back in the early 90s. He'd borrowed a 9422 mag and it was a lot of fun. Though the idea was good it was a mistake, I got a lot more use out of the boat paddle stocked 77/22 mag. If I could pick one up reasonably I probably would. Both of those two rifles shot about the same, inch and a quarter at 100 yards with a 4X and CCI Maxi Mag +V ammo. I killed a lot of ground squirrels with that bolt action. If the bidding is at $775 I would stop. For the same money you can get a new Christensen Ranger .22 mag. You get the same Ruger magazines mixed with Remington 700 triggers. I love my 77/17 HMR and don't plan to part with it .. ever .. but I wouldn't over-spend just to get the boat paddle. Tom

2 days to go and it is at 775.00 It will go for over a grand. Collectors have a huge appetite for them. I have one. Blued, synthetic, non-boat paddle. It's pleasantly accurate. Mine plays well with 30, 40 and 50 grain bullets. .5" 5 shot groups at 50. They were not known for being highly accurate rifles and I am not known for good luck with guns, but man, I won the lottery with it. Got it on closeout when Ruger discontinued them for under 400 bucks.

I have a blued walnut with a leupold 2x7. It’s maybe my favorite rifle of all time. Ir shoots every bullet weight well and I’ve killed all manor of small game, varmint, predators, and pests.

I bought a used one from a friend back in like 2002. He had done a trigger replacement on it, floated the action, and had a gunsmith tune it up. I got it for $300.00 back then. It shoots the old 40 grain SP and FMJ just fine, plus does real well with the 30 gr VMax.
3 x 9 Leupold on top....
When 22 Mag bullets were cheap, it saw a lot of action. NOT so much since the price went thru the roof...
its cheaper for me to shoot down loaded 223 ammo in bolt actions...
Still won't let it go until its my time to pass....

I hope it works out for you. That seems like a pretty good price. I just missed getting a basically NIB one at a gun show a few years ago. Guy walked in with it. Right as I turned to ask him how much, a dealer got to him. $400.

Well I picked it up from the post office the other day, put two rounds through it. One was hard to extract, turns out the case split, this was old I think, won in an auction, see picture. Not sure if this was real old, or if they had issues with them.
