We have this with 4C reticle and with 4K. No BDC2 or 3 though. I'd actually prefer the 4C but I read the illumination is too bright for low light situations which is probably the only situation I'd use it in. I'm a set it and forget guy that hunts mostly in the woods. In your opinion, which is the better scope between the R2 2-12x50 and the Leica Amplus 6 2.5-15x50 L-4a? The rifle I'll put it on currently has a Meopro 3.5-10x44.

I'd actually prefer the 4C but I read the illumination is too bright for low light situations .I'm a set it and forget guy that hunts mostly in the woods. The illumination in the R2 2-12x50 is only too bright for heavily-diffused moonlight usage -- and then just barely so. You may be thinking of the R1r 3-12x56, in which the dot in the 4C reticle is huge. All that surface area being illuminated can indeed negatively affect one's vision in the lowest of light. If you are hunting deer from dawn to dusk, the illumination in the 2-12x50 is just fine and extremely beneficial for woods usage. It's a terrific scope and one that will serve you well.

Thanks for the clarification, Bobby. I just awesome the 4C was the same across the entire line. My bad.

Thanks for the clarification, Bobby. I just awesome the 4C was the same across the entire line. My bad. No problem. Meopta has multiple variations of the 4C. It would be nice if manufacturers clarified/specified things like this instead of just using generic graphics for all of the reticles. Leupold has been the worst in this regard.

Bobby, do you have any experience with the Meosport R? If so, what’s your thoughts on it?

It offers a LOT for the $$ and is the best illuminated scope in its price range that I have tried. No, it's not perfect, and there are things I'd change for my personal use. Nonetheless, the positives with this scope can't be denied.
Glass-wise, it compares favorably with the original Conquest line. The dot is small and unobtrusive to allow precision, and only the center dot illuminates. And, the illumination goes extremely dim. In fact, in full moonlight, you can't even see the dot until you are either at the third or fourth setting. The click adjustments have been precise and repeatable and make sighting in a breeze.
Personally, I'd prefer the center wires to be a bit heavier, but that is the case with most Meopta 4-series reticles. The good news is that the illumination is very well done and makes up for that. The finish -- particularly on the turret covers -- is a bit soft and scuffs easily, even when using a plastic tool to remove it. Lastly, the rings that Meopta provides are of little to no use for most shooters. I'd rather they nixed the rings and spent the difference in upgrading some other area. But those are all minor complaints and have no real effect on in-the-field performance.
Bottom line:I liked the first one enough that I now have a second. One is on a 6.5 Bullberry and the other on a 6.5 BRM. I am very picky when it comes to optics, but the MeoSport 3-15x50 impressed me enough to warrant keeping them atop two of my favorite rifles.
