I call this "my 1st selfie" 1st week of June 03 up by the airfield in Mosul.
We was allowed to go on a rear area PX run in Sqd relays to maintain security at the train station combat outpost
I went with wpns sqd on the 3rd run out of 4 that day.
Nice "secure rear area" was allowed to take our domes of obedience and LBV,s off.

I had just turned 40 yrs old a couple of days prior.
Old man PSG.
2nd oldest behind the 1sg by 4 months in the Company.

Khanarella had sent me my normal care package with 4 cartons of smokes, chubby treats, kids art they made for me, and 2 disposable Cameras.

Well about 3 weeks later after the kids that would do runs for us back at the train station.
Came back with my Pics and other stuff for guys in the platoon
We would pay them a buck both ways to do stuff.
So basically 2 bucks to go to and from.

Our daughters first deer. She shot it about an hour before shooting light was over and it took us several hours to get it out and loaded. She was hands on from the moment of the shot until every ounce of meat was processed. Unfortunately we were so beat by the time we got back to the cabin that we snapped a few pictures that weren’t that great and showered for bed. I realized after this outing that I’m absolutely awful at taking pictures and capturing memories.

Rockin…..those were so gross that they were good. They are technically Alaskan nachos because they were made and consumed at the Ketchikan airport waiting for my ride to the island. The waitress was really coming on to me that time and when she gave the bill to my buddy she made it clear that she only charged him for the 2 beers he drank and nachos he ordered. I couldn’t stop laughing and it still cracks me up to think about how indignant he was….😂
