I just found this most enjoyable thread while munchin on antelope backstraps that would make Paul envious.....
I only have a thing of two of advice for my buddy Beav.... I am no stranger to the brotherhood of dinks... and there is no shame.... but... good grief man, shoot them next to the road or in the backyard.... don't be a rookie.... smile

Oh and the backstrap I am dining on, is from a dink antelope..... I killed two miles in and packed him out.... soo it seems I cannot even follow my own advice!

Good job and great story bro...

I think it’s cool Oregon allows adults with special needs to kill so many deer.

LOL

Oh there’s no shame because up in our neck of the woods with the lack of deer a lot of guys will not see a buck let alone kill it and themselves getting it out. Some of us like to eat them and only get a few days a year to make it happen. I hunted south of the Beaver and never saw a deer let alone a legal buck.

Maybe. It will eat good and I still have a doe tag to fill. I figure when I’m tagged out, I’ll have enough meat to make 7 hamburgers.

They only issued me one tag and that took a couple years applying.... They do eat good, if you know the tricks of taking care of them... wink
I took a buddy that had never killed a goat, we found him a nice one... he was amazed at how fun antelope hunting was.

Thanks for the hunt photos too, it's so different from up here.

All the best and good hunting on the rest of your outings.

I’m only ‘quoting’ this for posterity as Dwayne’s briefest post ever.

As a good hunter, he knows when being polite is saying something else.

For sure this. Beaver must have been more hungry for meat than deflave has ever been to pack that for over a mile.

Nice buck, Beav.
