Wanted to buy Remington Model Seven Custom KS in .308. I may consider one in .350 Remington Mag, but really looking for a .308.

Good luck on your search! Thanks! No leads yet, I have a feeling people who own them, hang onto them!

Get a Model 7 in 308 and put it in a McMillan pounder stock. You could even put a custom barrel on it
It is not about what you kill, it is about the hunt....

That’s an option, but I would really prefer the Remington custom shop offering.

It’s rare to see any of of the KS rifles anymore for sale. When you do, don’t think too long or it’s gone. I have a 7-08 in a Mod 7KS that I will NEVER sell.

That’s a nice one d500! There is actually a 280 in the classifieds; not a model 7 but one I’d grab if I was still on the hunt. (Wish it were that stainless ‘ks 06 I AM still on the hunt for.) OP, good luck with your 308; here is the 280 from a stellar individual. https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbt...s-optics-bullets-and-powder#Post17733415

I saw that 700 KS, and it’s very tempting. Just not what I’m looking for right now.

Closest I have is an Alaskan wilderness in .300 saum. That's kind of a .308 + P.

👍
I second the suggestion to build one. I haven't seen many through the years. It may be a long wait.

I've had a few Model 7 kS's since the first year. The first one was a .350 mag., it came with sights and they were crooked. I sent it back and they replaced the barrel with no sights. Great gun, used it for bear and Elk. I bought a 7mm-08 the first year. It's on it's third barrel. But honestly I don't think they're worth what you have to pay for them. I'm with a previous poster, I would build my own and have a superior rifle. Just get a model 7 as cheap as possible ans strip it down. Brown Precision 1 pounder or High tech stock and your choice of barrel. Any of the top barrel makers are better than Remingtons. I've used Hart, Shilen, Kreiger, Brux, and Douglas, they're all good. The latest barrel I fit for my 7mm-08 started as a #4 taper Douglas, but I tapered it to a Winchester Featherweight barrel except at the end when I kinda belled it for a 5/8" threaded for a suppressor. Didn't know how it would shoot after all that cutting on the barrel, maybe got lucky, but it shoots great and saves my hearing. My advice build it better.
