Lightweight sounds like a good idea until livestock and the elements get figured in.

I don't know any place that even sells them anymore.

Those are made of metal furring strips. They are called "hat channel" in the construction field. Wouldn't be hard to make your own.

Have a few of them around the farm from previous owner they seem to bend real easy when a cow leans on them

Have a few ornery cows, unbroke horses or mules try to jump over them and you will quickly buy better ones.
