I have a CZ 22 rifle that has had an old Leupold 1.5 - 5 scope on it. I recently sold that scope and was thinking about using a red dot for a new approach. The rifle already has a Picatinny rail on it.
Since I have never used a red dot on a rifle, I thought I would ask for suggestions on what to buy. It does not have to be high-end, just reliable and ready to attach to a rail.
Thanks for any suggestions.

The rifle already has a Picatinny rail on it. Dump the fugly pic rail and get a madmaccs base and a Burris Fastfire......

Those direct-mount Fastfire bases are becoming available for more and more stuff. I have one on a Victory, a S&W 620, and also have a Meadow Creek for use on O/Us, that also happens to be the one for my Browning Gold Hunter, a fortunate coinkydink.
What fresh Hell is this?

I've got fastfire on an 870, .22 lever action, and had one on a full size S&W 40. They're lightweight, and if it craps out Burris will send you a new one. I know this from personal experience

Huntsman, would the same setup work on a 22 handgun?

Madmaccs makes a ruger mount. TK does one for the victory

I've been happy with a Vortex Viper I've had for several years.
