There were two Darren McGavin made for tv movies called The Night Stalker and the Night Strangler before Kolchak.
That guy has been in a lot of movies.

McGavin was the original Mike Hammer in the fifties. Night Stalker, fun. I was growed up and still liked it.
Chuck Connors was in another vampire series briefly, before he died. He was supposed to host the show that Jim Scoutten has on outdoor. American Shooter or whatever.
