24.4 Grains of Varget in LC brass is giving me a little over 2800 at the muzzle with a 20" barrel and a CLE chamber.

I use the velocity from my 300 yard E-Targets (right at 2100 FPS) and calculate muzzle velocity using Bison ballistics calculator.

It is an accurate load, can clean a 300 yard target with good X-Count with no problem.

What velocity & what accuracy are you getting with what bullets?

I get about 2775 from the 77 TMK and 26-26.5 grains of LVR from LC brass with 450’s from my 18” PSA upper. Accuracy is MOA or better. It is even more accurate in my CTR but oddly enough runs about the same speed.

Thank You; I know that Stick & TWR like it too & I take both their inputs seriously.

I'm going to get some & try it kinda as a backup plan to the other powders I'm using as it comes available off & on.

Good velocity, great accuracy, & heavy bullets with around 26gr of LVR. Try it & find out I did.

What kind of temp stability do folks get with LVR? How does it perform around zero F? 100 F?

My limited testing with LVR showed it to be pretty sensitive with the 223 and the 75 gr Amax. 75 ambient, running strings of ten it gained about 100fps from shot 1 to shot 4

I do most of my load work in the Oklahoma summers and I haven’t noticed any 100 fps variance in any of my work with it.

When I used it in my old 223AI bolt gun, my dope was the same out to 600 yards year round. But I wasn’t shooting steel in 0 degree weather either.

I noticed a pretty good climb like that this weekend with my CFE223 load going over the chronograph. 2850 up to 2930 or so with 65gr Gameking in an 18” AR.

As an aside, I worked up to 23.3gr of H4895 with the 77TMK and it made 2600. Groups were better than the Gameking CFE load. Nosler says I should have 2-3 tenths of wiggle room left. I’ll try it out and see. I can live with 2600+ if it’s accurate and stable. Velocity spreads on the H4895 3-shot workups were fairly low. Nosler got 2700 with a 20" Pac-Nor barrel, 5.56 chamber, and their brass, using 23.5gr.

I'm probably not interested in somebody's 2500fps competition load, as this one will likely be used on meat. I could stand some good velocity.

Appreciate it.
